Sensory Tools for Vestibular and Movement Needs

Sensory Tools for Vestibular and Movement Needs

Vestibular input is all about balance, motion, and spatial awareness. Movement-based sensory tools can help regulate the nervous system, build motor skills, and support emotional regulation.

Wedge Cushion

The Wedge cushion is square with a wedge shaped designed to promote correct seated posture. The wedge shape is particularly helpful for adults and children who have low muscle tone and tend to sit with a slumped posture. These cushions are also an effective way to provide children with regulating sensory input whilst they remain seated.

The HowdaHug chair is designed for “fidgety kids” who present a need for deep sensory input to find focus, calm and containment. It's design comes from research and clinical trials to attain the finest possible seating during circle time, on the floor or in a chair. It is clinically trialled and endorsed by professionals and parents alike.

With a Jari Activstool, there is no lying back, no slouching and definitely no sitting still. With a rotating convex base and a soft padded seat, Jari forms one leg of a stable tripod, your own legs provide the other two parts. That means you are constantly flexing, adjusting and moving; the ideal way to stay focused and concentrate.

The Bilibo is a great way to help develop core strength and coordination. The elementary shells leave room for the child’s imagination. Instead of imposing a specific play pattern, Bilibo is open for a wide range of interpretations and encourages the children to invent their own games, to play and have fun in an active and creative way.

The Balance Cushion helps restless kids and adults stay focused while enhancing balance, posture, and core strength. Place it on a chair to encourage seated attention during tasks. It provides just enough movement to satisfy the need to fidget without becoming a distraction. On the floor, it doubles as an engaging tool for balance training and core muscle development.

This unique ball challenges children to balance as they roll and bounce. It also provides an ideal medium for balance training, strengthening and proprioceptive activities. Further, it enhances focus by supporting the need for movement and builds core strength. The contoured saddle provides stability and is shaped for forward and back rotation as well as side to side.
