Sensory Crash Mats
Crash mats from Sensory Tools add safe heavy work and deep pressure to your day. The wipeable cover cleans fast and handles clinic, classroom, and home use. Set a simple routine: do a short jump set on the mat, then pause with something from our calming sensory tools collection.
How do you set up and fill a crash mat?
Place the inner mesh bag inside the outer cover, zip it closed, then secure the outer zipper and velcro so the fill stays put. For therapy sessions, fill with foam blocks to create a slightly uneven surface that nudges you to adjust posture and build core strength. Our Foam Filling Pieces are light to medium density—plan one bundle for a small mat and two bundles for a large mat (about 100 blocks per bundle).
How can you use a crash mat each day?
Run 1–2 minute movement breaks: 3–5 safe jumps, belly flops, or log rolls. Add animal walks or slow crawling across the mat to load hands and knees. Use the mat as the last station in a mini obstacle course, then switch to reading, homework, or dinner while your body feels more settled. Wipe the cover and zip it closed so it’s ready for the next round.
