Sensory Tools®: Your Source for
Soft Play, Special Needs, and
Occupational Therapy Equipment
in Australia

Our Commitment to Quality and Therapeutic Value

Our focus on special needs equipment comes from a place of education and passion for helping kids with special needs. Those needs include sensory processing, autism, Asperger’s, ADD/ADHD, learning difficulties, behavioural challenges, and/or other developmental challenges.

Our business was founded 14 years ago by Genevieve Jereb, who is a professional occupational therapist and an international speaker on OT-related subjects. Genevieve has carefully curated our product selection over the years, choosing products and tools based on their quality and therapeutic value. When you buy special needs equipment from Sensory Tools®, you can rest assured knowing that there has been significant quality control in the selection of the products we sell to our customers.

One example is the soft play equipment which is primarily used in pre-schools, early learning centres, home gyms, and engine and sensory room set-ups. Products include landing mats, building blocks, climbing toys and ball pits—which are great for young children because they don’t have sharp edges or corners. They are also excellent for sensory development, thanks to their colours, shapes, and overall feel. All children, especially those with sensory processing issues, receive substantial sensory input from soft play equipment, including tactile, visual, proprioceptive, and more. These items aren’t just a lot of fun to play with, but they can also assist in the development of key motor skills, balance, and coordination.

Other occupational therapy equipment available through our store includes tools to help with breathing and respiration, listening, eating, movement, oral motor, gross motor, fine motor skills and overall relaxation.

Get Help Choosing the Right Sensory Equipment for Your Child

At Sensory Tools®, our number one goal is to help kids, and their families navigate the process of special needs learning and development. In addition to our retail offerings, we also run workshops throughout Australia, providing advice, guidance, and strategies for occupational therapists, special needs carers, and parents. You can learn more about our workshops here.

We also make it easy for customers to get in touch with our staff, for help choosing the right special needs equipment. Parents sometimes aren’t sure which toys or tools are ideal for helping their kids. One of the challenges of shopping for this kind of equipment online is that there is no store clerk to ask. Unfortunately, you won’t find many of these products in standard toy stores or department stores.

While Sensory Tools® does have a physical location that you can visit—at 5 East Market Street, Richmond, NSW — we aim to serve all of Australia. That means providing all our products online, as well as top-tier service. If you have any questions about a product or need some guidance finding the right piece of equipment for your child, please do not hesitate to ask. You can reach us any time via telephone, email, or website contact form.
